Sandy City is committed to supporting quality special events throughout the community. A special event permit is required for any function, whether it be on private or public property, that may require additional parking, create unusual noise, or is on city streets or in the public right-of-way. This includes but not limited to: block parties, concerts, cycling, run/walks, filming, motorcade, weddings, triathlons, street fair/festivals, etc.

Please have a site plan and/or route map ready when submitting your application.

Please submit your application a minimum of 45 days in advance of your event.

If your event is being held entirely within a Sandy City park it will not require a special event permit but please contact Parks and Rec at 801-568-2900 or to visit their website click here for their reservation process.

An application fee of $100 is required for all commercial (for profit) events. Schools, churches, fundraisers, etc will be excluded from the application fee.

Beautification Contest

The Sandy City Beautification Contest has been conducted each year by the Sandy Beautification Committee. Awards are given to residents and businesses within Sandy's borders which have made the extra effort to beautify their properties. Categories which were judged in the past have included: All Around, Water Conservation, Before and After and Water Features.

Sandy Pride

Sandy Pride is a community-wide event that helps foster a heightened community awareness and pride in Sandy neighborhoods. The spirit of the day is recognized through community cleanup programs and beautification projects. The number of projects and volunteers has grown each year since its inception in 1984 by the Sandy Exchange Club.

Volunteers

Residents, businesses, groups or individuals are all encouraged to participate. Statistical Report

The Sandy City Statistical Report for 2012 (PDF) is now available. It contains useful information regarding population, land use, housing characteristics, development trends, economics, community facilities and public services. A printed report is also available for a fee in the Planning Department at City Hall.
